The school has an approved uniform and children are expected to wear this at all times. A note of explanation is required if children are not wearing uniform. The uniform is extremely practical and over time is more economical than other clothing. It also identifies children with their school.
School uniforms, including the hats and bags, may be purchased from the School Office.
New and second hand uniforms are available any time. In the event that an item you require is not available, an order may be placed at the Office. Delivery is generally prompt (5 days). A current price list for uniforms is provided at the back of this document and is also available at the Office.
There is a good range of articles, which allows for differing preferences. Windcheaters or rugby jumpers, tracksuit pants, shorts, culottes and a summer weight school dress are available individually. The tracksuits are maroon with the gold logo. The pants, shorts and culottes are worn with a gold polo shirt, which is either long or short sleeved.
Hats: Portland South Primary School is a SunSmart School and children are expected to wear sun smart hats for all outdoor activities. During Terms 1 & 4 this will be strictly supervised and activity may be restricted to shaded areas when children do not have hats to wear. School hats are available from the Office. In terms 2 & 3 we encourage students to wear a warm beanie. These are available in Maroon with the school logo.
School Bags: Backpack type school bags are available in the school colours – one size only.
